Situated overlooking Nine Mile Lake, this water access only cottage and attached screened-in porch total 900 square feet. Simplistic in design, it contains only one sleeping room and combined kitchen, dining and living areas – plus a small loft area above the bedroom. A screened-in porch provides an additional 50% living space free from insects. An outhouse is situated nearby in lieu of a bathroom – as well as a guest bunkie and open deck.
The cottage is hand framed with a structural LVL ridge beam to open up the ceiling along the full length of the cottage. The vaulted ceiling makes the bedroom loft feasible, especially in conjunction with a dormer. Exposed bedrock was prevalent on the site so the structure was anchored to piers pinned to the rock.
