This 314 square foot existing deck heaved after the winter thaw creating a slope towards the house. All elements of the deck were removed and rebuilt.
The pier system has changed from concrete piers to steel piles. The replacement of the piers ensures the new piers will be below the front line so as to avoid any future heaving due to frost.
The wood cantilevered picket railing has been replaced with wood rails with aluminum balusters, creating a more modern look. The wood deck boards were changed to composite decking complete with a perimeter border. Detail was provided to avoid butt joints in the decking.
